I am a contract developer of Native iPHONE and ANDROID apps ( iOS and Java), as well as DRUPAL/PHP or Ruby Internet Solutions. I reside in Miami(70%) and Washington DC(30%) but I prefer to work virtually. The last couple of years I have been experimenting with technology as I pursue my own projects and interests; iPHONE/ANDROID, Internet (DRUPAL, PHP, Python), Embedded devices, Tagging ( RFID, DALSEMI iTags, GPS...) and other trends like cloud and frameworks, non conventional solutions like noSQL databases (MongoDB) as well as outsourcing strategies for hardware/software development. My paid programming experience began at age 15 when I did an IRA tracking system for Bank Of Delaware. Since then, I have done diagnostic systems for 688 Class Attack Subs, control and Logistic systems for Polypropylene factories and Rail Roads, developed a very large Predictive Dialing systems ( 3 call centers,+300 stations, +1000 POTS lines), A mission critical ERP system for Military Sea-lift Command during Desert Storm, medical immunisation tracking system for Gypsy Children in Spain, Multi-Million Dollar Automation systems for Cement and other types of Factories in Mexico and US, High Volume Document Scanning Systems as well as a Document Management System that I developed for Military, xGATE and xTREND(Industrial system for factories), Embedded controls, a lot of programming, and a couple Dot.Com’s... to name a few.
I entered University as an Electrical Engineering major, but ended up graduating University of Delaware with a BA in International Relations and Spanish because of my interest in current events, and Latin America. I had ( expired ) CNE ( NOVELL) and MCSE(MICROSOFT) certifications and have plugged in thousands of Ethernet ports. As part of a proposal for a Large Insurance company I got a Health And Life Insurance Licence. I develop in C, C++, BASIC ( many flavors including .NET), PHP, RUBY, CLIPPER and PYTHON. mySQL, MS ACCESS, MSSQL, ORACLE, MongoDB and cloud hosting solutions. At work or at a client's office, I normally get the reputation as the guy to come to when something needed a technical solution. The only time I have not been doing IT was a couple of years developing Real-Estate, Day trading and travel.
If not doing IT, I Swim open water events, Bike, Sail dingies and play Lacrosse. I speak English ( Native) and Spanish ( not quite native, but pretty good), and I understand French and Italian. I listen more than speak, but I make a good public or client presentation and I do not consider myself limited to technical positions.
I accept consulting/contract work and, depending on opportunity, I would take a full-time position in Marketing, Sales, Project Management, iPHONE/iPAD/ANDROID applications development or a well funded DOT.COM. Ideally, an International Organization with travel, or a position in a small, progressive office where I can use imagination to make an impact.
